Jennifer Aniston: Her Approach to Fitness, Nutrition and Her Go-to Morning Drink

Jennifer Aniston/Zoey Grossman

In a recent People article, Jennifer Aniston of Friends and The Morning Show described how she stays fit and healthy at 55. It starts with a morning dose of ARMRA Colostrum.

Jennifer’s go-to morning drink

“I drink ARMRA Colostrum first thing in the morning, with room temperature water and a whole lemon squeezed into it” said Aniston. In the colder months she’ll “steep a little teaspoon of ginger, which is good for your digestion and your immune system, and then I’ll put a little drop of Manuka honey. It’s so delicious served hot” she says.

Colostrum is a nutrient-dense fluid that is released from the breast of mammals after they give birth for the purpose of providing nourishment and certain nutrients to their young. It’s produced by all female mammals including humans and is packed with nutrients, antibodies, and growth factors that provide essential nourishment and immunity to newborns.

Her approach to nutrition

Aniston’s approach to nutrition is admirable. “My nutrition is very much the same. It’s usually a lot of high protein, vegetables, salads, soups and then everything I would possibly want on a weekend. I always give myself a cheat day.” Her cheat food of choice?  “Well, it depends. I mean, dare I sound repetitive, but Mexican food is a real favorite of mine. It’s not even that much of a cheat, to be honest.”

“Or a cheeseburger or pizza or pasta — all that stuff,” continues Aniston.

Her approach to fitness

She prefers to workout in the morning and on days when she doesn’t want to go, she coaches herself through it. “I say, ‘Just go. Do five minutes. Just move for at least five minutes,’ ” the actress states. “Then you find if you’ve gotten through the first 10 minutes of anything, you can probably do another 10 and then another 10, and then you just keep going.”

Aniston recently partnered with Pvolve, a women’s low-impact functional fitness brand and exercise system that promises longevity and healthy aging. “You can actually enjoy your workout, not break your body and have an incredible transformation”. She continues, “In all the workouts I’ve tried over the years, this one has transformed my body more than any of the others, and it’s a really enjoyable workout that I don’t feel intimidated by, that I don’t dread … I get excited, because I also know that if I’m not feeling 100%, if I only have 20 minutes in me, that’s all I do. … It meets you where you’re at, and I love that about it.”

Our thoughts

What we found interesting, was Aniston’s mental approach to both fitness and nutrition. She does not accept the popular fitness mentality of “no pain, no gain” nor does she insist on a 7-day per week strict nutritional regime. By not forcing her body on days when she’s not 100% and allowing herself a cheat meal during the weekend as a reward for good week of fitness and nutrition, she has ensured she can continue with her fitness and nutritional goals for decades to come.
