Online Media is Finally Realizing People 50+ Are More Hip and Active

A recent AARP study has shown what we here at Active Aging News have know for quite sometime. People 50+ are “more active and independent, more likely to use technology, (and) more current in their attire” as they age. And online media companies are starting to pay attention. “There has been a significant improvement in how older adults are portrayed online compared to five years ago”. However, they are still missing the boat. “Despite making up over one-third of the workforce, adults 50+ at work appear in only 14% of images, virtually unchanged from 13% in 2018”.
